The Gellet Rock

The picture on the right is of the Gellet Rock and it is a popular spot for climbers to practice. The Gellet Rock is a pinnacle of rock that remains in the East Quarry at Charlestown and indicates the extent of the quarry operations that took place here. This rock is also a favourite place for geologist to visit as the rock reveals a wide range of fossil remains eg crinoids, corals, sponges, and brachipods.
